This is a smoothie that is sure to make your tastebuds tingle! The snap from the ginger and the sweetness of banana makes it such a perfect combination for autumn. I topped this smoothie with chia seeds, pomegranate, slices of banana and crushed gingersnaps. YUM! Did you know pomegranate is a fall fruit? I didn’t know this until recently! RECIPE: (makes 4 small smoothies or 2 larger smoothies)
- 2 frozen bananas
- 2 bananas (room temperature), sliced
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1 teaspoon molasses
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/8 teaspoon cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 4 gingersnaps, crushed
- 2 tablespoons chia seeds
- 1 cup pomegranate
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- cinnamon sticks for garnish (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS:
- put frozen bananas in a blender
- add cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, molasses, and almond milk
- blend until smooth
- transfer to small glasses or bowls
- top with sliced banana, pomegranate, chia seeds, crushed gingersnaps, and maple syrup (I divided all the toppings evenly between the smoothies)
- garnish with cinnamon sticks
