This weekend I got to experience real love. One of my best friends from high school (Nicole) just got married! She met this guy (Ethan) in Florida when she was there on vacation. He is from Canada!!! They started visiting each other… he came to NJ and she went to Canada. Eventually he moved here to NJ! They got engaged… and MARRIED! They now run a gym (The Firm Fitness Center) in Mount Laurel, NJ. I couldn’t even imagine Nicole being with anyone else. Nicole and Ethan are perfect for each other! Both of them are into living a healthy lifestyle. This includes working out and balancing that with a healthy diet… of course with some treats here and there. It was a real blessing to be apart of something so magical. Congratulations you two! You deserve the best life together! ❤
When I got to the hotel, a bunch of friends went to brunch together.
The wedding was not until 6:00 pm, so we had plenty of time to eat (and drink) and spend time together before getting ready. We went to a place called the Hamilton Inn. It was not a hotel at all. It was a small restaurant on the corner in the city. The food was phenomenal, along with their drinks. Most people were drinking their fresh-squeezed mimosas, bloody marys, or fresh-squeezed screw drivers. But I decided on a grapefruit bellini! It was basically champagne with fresh squeezed grapefruit juice, garnished with a cherry. So delicious!
I also decided to get the veggie burger. I know, it seems boring, but this was the most amazing veggie burger I’ve ever had! I could taste carrots, celery, sweet potato, and I don’t even know what exactly was in it.. but it was just so tasty. Other options were fish tacos, omelets, pulled pork eggs benedict?!?! Amazing. No words.
We all went back to the hotel, popped some champagne, got starbucks, you know the usual wedding preparation. The girls got ready while the guys chilled, drank beer, and got ready at the last minute – no other way! Madison came to visit the girls in the hotel room. I was so excited to see her before she got in her bridesmaids dress!
Meanwhile, I’m anxiously awaiting to see Nicole’s dress!! My boyfriend (Josh) and Devon’s boyfriend (Anthony) said they had seen her in the lobby earlier! I asked what kind of dress she had and they responded with “a white one”. No help. None at all. So useless! HAHA! Anyways, so once everyone was ready we took a shuttle to the wedding, where the celebration began with the ceremony, cocktail hour (AMAZING FOOD!), dinner (EVEN MORE AMAZING FOOD!), dancing, cake, more dancing and drinking, of course! The night ended and we all took a shuttle back to the hotel. The next morning we packed up and were on our way! Such an amazing weekend. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
